How to compare aligner quotes that include different services

Published October 20, 2026

In short

Compare line items, not totals. Aligner quotes differ mostly in what they bundle: the examination, x-rays and digital scan; the treatment plan and number of trays; attachments and their removal; the refinement policy (how many rounds, over what period); mid-course check-ins or remote monitoring; retainers and a replacement policy; whitening or cosmetic finishing; and what happens if the plan changes. A quote that is lower but excludes refinements and retainers can end up costing more.

Loul Dental Studio does not publish aligner fees here because the right plan depends on an examination.

The cost drivers in plain language

Complexity and length of treatment; refinement rounds; attachments; retention; records and imaging; and whether other dental work is needed first, such as gum treatment or fillings. The American Dental Association notes that treatment plans are individual (ADA).

Comparing on like terms

Write each quote into the same table. Note what is missing from each. Ask each office to confirm in writing what a listed item covers.

Beyond the price

Who examines you in person, who supervises progress, and how problems are handled matter more than a few hundred dollars either way; those belong in the comparison.

What this page does not do

It does not state fees or compare specific providers. The studio discusses fees at consultation after an examination (studio).

Next step: Request a consultation or call (805) 565-5111. A request is not a confirmed appointment; the office confirms times during its listed hours (Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm, plus select Fridays).
